The Evolution Of Free Music Downloads

Music downloads via the internet have come a long way in a small amount of time. Just a few short years ago music companies and individual artist were in an uproar over music download sites.

Music download sites such as Napster allowed online users to share and download music for free, and many individuals that would never consider doing something illegal figured it was okay to get the music for free and stopped buying it in stores!.

It grew to such popularity that the sales of new records bottomed out and artists were losing millions of dollars. Many sites like Napster were charged with pirating music and the industry managed to get these businesses to close.

They may have been down but they were not out for the count! Napster and similar websites revamped and came back this time offering one hundred percent legal music downloads and still free to join.

The popularity of legal music downloads is increasing with the rise of MP3 players. Downloading music legally is now a necessity, thanks to the digital revolution. Moreover, the risk of persecution has resulted in people feeling uncomfortable with free illegal music downloads. This change in buyer attitude has helped expansion of the industry. However, there are still some who continue to prefer downloading their music for free but they end up paying a price for it in most cases.

Many sites are available and they offer music for free. But you may find that you get what you pay for. Free music often comes with a price. It is common for the music to contain adware, spyware, and viruses that could permanently disable your computers. When you download from these sites you put yourself at risk and could even have charges brought against you for pirating music.

Do not take risk either for your computer or for yourself and insist on downloading legally available music from reputed websites only.
